Frequently Asked Questions
How many ads are on a postcard, what's the size, how much is the postage, how much is the ad development?
For our XL Format postcard (8.5"x 11"), a maximum of 6 huge, non Competing ad spaces are available. For the L Format, (6 x 11), a maximum of 8 non Competing ad spaces are available. Postage is included in your monthly rate. Ad development is free.
For our XL Format postcard (8.5"x 11"), Each Ad is approximately 2.75" Wide and 7" High. For the L format card, each ad is a little smaller than a dollar bill. Postcards are mailed 4X per year, 2500-2700 per mailing. They are mailed to targeted residences in neighborhoods in Roanoke and Salem. The XL card is targeted to higher incomes and "older" demographic. The L Card is targeted to specific zip codes with a wider income and age demographic. For more specifics, contact us.
Can a postcard ad be split between 2 businesses?
Sure. The only thing we would need, is that just one of the business would be responsible for payment and signing the ad agreement, but we can do two ads in one space for you. Text marketing cannot be shared due to privacy and other regulations.
Aren't Postcards too expensive and don't work in 2026?
Ad sizes? Where are the cards mailed?
Can't I just make a group text and do the texting without signing up with you?
We do ask for a commitment and down payment to cover some of our costs and to give some time for repeat advertising to work. However, if you stop paying, we stop printing, mailing, and texting- so we try to keep you happy. We don't throw contracts in anyone's face. If you aren't happy, let us know. But be fair and give it some time.
For postcards, there aren't any, unless you want to change your ad after approving it, and between mailings. We charge $99 for that. In the text program there is a small charge for each member who joins your text list. Its not a "gotcha". It benefits both you and us. More members means more texts going out, and more income coming in for you, and us. We work hard to earn that member fee which benefits you too. Also note that the per member fee is reduced as your list gets bigger. This is outlined in the text agreement.
Just know that if your business texts people without receiving their permission or giving them an opt out process (in a specific, legal format) you could be in violation of the law. Similar to the "do not call" laws, there are also privacy and anti-spam requirements. SO we say, if you text the wrong person, the fines are incredibly huge. Our system will keep you out of hot water.
I have a question that's not answered here
With our Community Cards, you're "co-opping" and sharing the cost with other non competing businesses. Does it work? We have a video on the site where we asked Chat GPT, Gemini and Grok, if postcards work in 2026. All said definitely yes, and gave stats and reasons- such as the tactile, physical card, longer shelf life, and they cut through all the Digital Clutter which is becoming worse today. Consumers already have Digital Fatigue so their attention to digital ads is waning. Our repeat mailings and targeted residences give the best chance for good response.
Can we cancel any time, or is there a contract or something?
What other costs are there?
Why do I need texting? I use Facebook (or other social)
Think of it this way. If you had an important message that HAD to be delivered immediately to a person, would you post it on Facebook, or text it. Your business has important messages. Text them. The response rate of FB vs Text isn't even comparable. If they aren't on Facebook, or aren't logged in, your ad isn't seen. And even if they are, it lasts about 1.4 seconds on average before its scrolled away from.
